Finding a Lawyer

Help Me Find...

Lawyers are experts with special training that helps them know much more about court procedures and applying the law to particular situations than many others know or can learn on their own. For this reason, you can sometimes save time and money by hiring a lawyer to handle some or all of your court case.

If you feel that you cannot afford to hire a lawyer to handle your whole court case, you can consider hiring a lawyer to help you with just parts of the case (such as checking over court forms, attending a court hearing, or attending a deposition). This kind of legal help is sometimes called “unbundled legal services.” If you have very low income, you might qualify to get free legal help from legal aid.
