REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Find the GROUP number and Reporting date on your Summons, then:

  1. Call (925) 646-2002 after 5:00 pm on the day before your appearance date.(Information for a Monday jury date will be available after 5:00 pm Friday and throughout the weekend.)
  2. Follow the instructions for your group number and reporting date, time and location. You may be placed on phone standby and instructed to phone again on your reporting day between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm so that you are not asked to report unnecessarily. The reporting message will tell you either:
  • Report as directed on your Summonsor

  • Your GROUP has been put on “telephone standby.” This means you must call (925) 646-2002 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to find out if you must report for service that afternoon, or

  • Your group has been excused from jury service.

Note: In order to accommodate court needs, you may be instructed to report to an alternate court location within the county.

 

POSTPONEMENT / DISQUALIFICATION

To ask for a later jury service date, or to ask the court to disqualify you as a juror:

    • Fill this information out online or

    • Fill out the postponement/disqualification section on the back of the Summons and mail it back to the court.

 

REQUEST FOR EXCUSE

Requests for excuse will not be processed on the court's website. Complete the appropriate section on the paper Summons, sign and date where indicated, retain the top portion of the form and return the lower section to the court.

  1. Si usted no habla ni entiende el idioma inglés, por favor llame al (925) 646-2002 antes de 5 días después de haber recibió el aviso de comparecencia. If you do not speak or understand English, please call (925) 646-2002 within 5 days of receiving this summons.

  2. Notification to Employer:  Ask your employer if you should report to work if you are placed on phone standby.


Juror Parking

Very limited parking is available around the courthouse.  You may park in the Detention Facility parking lot on Ward Street adjacent to the Bray Bldg.  Metered parking is available on the following streets:  Pine, Ward, Mellus, Green, Escobar, Castro and Marina Vista.  If you park on the above streets, place your juror Parking Verification on the dash of your car and do not deposit coins in the meter.

DO NOT park in the following areas:  Any private, reserved, business, public lots (including metered lots) or restricted parking zones (red, yellow, green or blue unless authorized).  You may NOT park on the following street: Main, Las Juntas, Ferry, Pine (between Main and Ward), Grandview, Court and all areas of Willow.
