Court Fees

People pay money to the court for a variety of reasons. Filing fees for different case types and actions are set by the State of California.  These fees are paid when you file papers related to a court case at the courthouse where your case is being heard. Courthouse locations and directions.

Court-ordered fines, fees, and restitution:

The Contra Costa Superior Court Collections Unit is responsible for processing and collecting court-ordered fines and fees. If the court orders this department to create a time payment account, you will get a notice in the mail describing the payment plan, amount, and due date (note: it may take up to four weeks for the Court Collections Unit to set up this account.)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  If you have not received a notice from the Court Collections Unit within 30 days of your court appearance, you must call AllianceOne at (877) 541-8420.

  • You must pay court-ordered fines and fees.
  • You must tell the Collections and Compliance office if your
    address changes.
  • The court might issue a warrant for your arrest, money judgment, lien, place a hold on your driver’s license, send information to the Franchise Tax Board Court Ordered Debt Program and/or Tax Intercept Program if you do not pay court fines and fees, or do not tell the Court Collections office of any address change.

How can I pay my fines/fees?

By check or money order: 

  • You MUST include your case or account number on your check or
    money order
  • Make payable to: "AllianceOne"

By credit card:

  • The Court accepts ONLY: American Express, Discovery, Master Card,
    Visa, Master Money debit cards, Visa check cards.
  • There is a fee for this service.
  • Credit card payments must be made by telephone: (877) 541-8420

Can I drop off a payment after 2:00pm? 

Make sure your name, address, phone number, and case number are clearly noted on any payments or correspondence that you place in the drop box.

  • The Martinez drop box is available from 8:00am to 5:00pm inside the building
    at 725 Court Street.
  • Drop boxes in Concord, Richmond, Pittsburg, and Walnut Creek courts are outside
    the buildings.

How soon will my payment be posted?

Payments dropped off at any one of the five court locations will be forwarded to the Collections and Compliance Unit and posted within three to five working days.

What if my account is past due?

If your account is past due, or you feel you need to make different payment arrangements, please call AllianceOne at:
