Jury Service in the Contra Costa Superior Court

Help Me Find...

The American Jury: “We the People” in action!

  • "Trial by jury is one of the fundamental ideals of American democracy; serving as jurors reminds us that these ideals exist only as long as individual citizens are willing to uphold them.”

    Hon. Tani Cantil-Sakauye
    Chief Justice of California

Juror Parking Notice

There is very little parking around the courthouses in Martinez. You will find limited free parking next to the Bray courthouse in the Detention Facility parking lot on Ward Street. Most other parking is metered. The City of Martinez has posted a map showing the locations of long-term parking meters (up to 10 hours) on their website:

www.cityofmartinez.org/downtown_parking.asp

The City of Martinez charges per hour at the 10-hour meters in coins, subject to change.

Do not park in restricted parking zones (red, yellow, green or blue) unless you are authorized to do so. Jurors are financially responsible for any parking tickets they receive.

WARNING TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT IDENTITY THEFT:

Be careful what information you reveal over the phone.

Identity thieves have called residents in several California counties and threatened them for failing to report for jury service. The thieves then asked for
confidential information.

The Court and Jury Assembly Room staff will NEVER call you and ask for Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers or other sensitive information. The Court suggests that you hang up on any caller who claims to be a court employee seeking this information.

Do not give out such information over the phone to anyone who calls you claiming to be with the judicial system.
