The Contra Costa County Civil Grand Jury is annually impaneled to investigate city and county governments, special districts and certain nonprofit corporations to ensure functions are performed in a lawful, economical and efficient manner. Recommendations resulting from these investigations are listed. In accordance with Section 933(c) of the California Penal Code, the governing body of a public agency or its designated administrator must respond to these recommendations to the presiding judge within ninety (90) days; and elected officials must respond to the recommendations within sixty (60) days.
